What is Coby?

Coby is my best friend.

Coby (a quokka plushie) was created in an extremely PvP environment, where traders were exhausted by recycled memes, incessant shills, and a toxic trading environment. Coby was originally purely an investment for our core team - we are all early holders who liked the narrative of Coby as a “best friend” and appreciated seeing something new (companionship narrative and plushie narrative) in an tiring market.

However, as sell pressure increased and no team stepped up to work as the backbone of the project, we decided to dedicate our time to build a community, create a vision for Coby, and find a way to drive our narrative of companionship and friendship.

Over time, we have built an extremely dedicated community, with strong and loud holders, a holder-base that continues to grow by the day. We currently have 5,500+ holders, many of them being notable, and this has been achieved with:

• No supply control
• Zero paid shills or partnerships

We have a strong focus on content and marketing, particularly IRL, as demonstrated by our plushie activation Singapore at Token2049 and Breakpoint. Our recent campaigns include adopting a quokka and creating IRL content in Australia, and a pivot to original art with the onboarding of our in-house artist. In the next 1-2 months, we will be distributing plushies to children at an LA pediatrics hospital, pushing our Coby IRL content, as well as hosting an event at Art Basel, Miami.

Our goal is to create a completely community-driven, companion project, revolving around the values of relentless determination, good work ethic, and friendship.

We will make Coby everyone’s best friend.

Less than 10% of total supply is held by core team members, with majority in holding to provide liquidity for exchange listings, and compensate active project contributors.

Ricky has been in the crypto trading space since 2016/17, and currently owns and operates a Web2 distribution business across the East Coast. He manages front-facing communications,

Cuban is the founder of AkatsukiFnF (https://twitter.com/AkatsukiFnF), a premier trading group, as well as the business owner of multiple restaurants.

Ono was previously a quant trader at a reputable high frequency trading firm, and raised 7 figures in her previous startup. She manages partnerships, high level marketing, content and art strategy, and any technical integrations.

Aside from our core members, Coby has an additional 10 team members that operate across our content, marketing and community teams, as well as another 10-15 contractors and active community contributors.
