DIMO makes cars smart devices, accessible via API.

Ok. But what does that mean?

It means that mechanics, dealerships, insurance companies, social apps, games, AI, and any other business can connect to your car and (1) track things like fuel, location, distance, and speed; (2) send messages and commands like "unlock the doors"; and (3) even pay for things directly from the car's digital wallet.

And, most importantly, these businesses can only access the car when the driver opts-in. It's like how your smartphone always lets you choose if you want to share your location, photos, and microphone with the apps that you download. DIMO always puts you in control.

So why should anyone care?

Well, your data is valuable and you should be able to control it and monetize it.

But even more importantly, owning a car can be so much more. what if buying a new car were as easy as booking an Uber? What if your insurance premium was 50% cheaper because it's as data driven as your Instagram algorithm? Soon we'll see: an AI car mechanic that knows your car inside and out that you can ask any question you want to; a smart parking garage that sends directions to your car to park autonomously and pay for itself; a fully digital DMV; and so much more.
